EXEMPLAR CLIPPER CUP (Races 4 & 5)

Race 4 starts outside the heads at 10:00 am. Vantage points are anywhere along the waterfront and REX SMEAL PARK from 9:30am up until the start at 10:00. Then Fourmile Beach at the town end and Flagstaff Hill. The race will take about 2 hours and then the fleet will come back in the order that they finish.   The Carnivale Club will operate nightly from 5.00pm till late at the vintage Sugar Wharf right on the waters of the inlet.  The heritage-listed venue will be transformed to a club zone with a swag of free and ticketed entertainment designed to thrill and chill, plus a well stocked bar and supper menu catering for all tastes.  The Club will commence nightly at 5.00pm, with a sunset session for two hours featuring live music and special beverage offers.  Then at 7.30pm the mid evening session starts.  An array of entertainers are set to appear, with styles ranging from cool jazz, mellow acoustic and chilled sessions by favourite DJs.  Interspersed with the entertainment, organisers plan to inject wine tastings, live cabaret and even comedy acts.  The Carnivale Club will be the venue for the final of the Douglas Songwriters Challenge, plus it will host a new event on the 2010 program, the Carnivale Food Fight which will see several of the region’s master chefs battle it out while their audience judges both their on stage skills and their sumptuous canapés.  Memberships to Carnivale Club are available (www.carnivale.com.au) and offer a range of discounts on Club sessions.

Self drive directions:
• From Port Douglas travel north to Mossman.
• Drive through the township of Mossman and continue north along Mossman- Daintree Road (Captain Cook Highway becomes Mossman-Daintree Road).
• Pass the Mossman Golf Course & Scommazon’s Fruit Farm as as you enter the 60km hour zone bear left here at (Miallo Motors) to Miallo/Whyanbeel.
• Follow this road past the Miallo State School and over the Leonardi Di Palma Bridge.
• At the Assman, Bamboo and Kingston Road junction, take Kingston Road and continue straight ahead.
