The Herberton Mining Museum and Visitor
Information Centre is located on Jacks Road on part of the Great Northern
Reward Claim.
The site includes the 24 hectares (60 acres)
of land which William Jack and John Newell were allowed to purchase as a
reward claim for their discovery of the tin deposits at Herberton.
The Herberton mining history is presented inside the Mining Centre building through systematically laid out rooms which display various relics, photographs,
documents and various other preserved memorabilia reminding visitors of Herberton's mining
past.
