The picturesque Malanda Falls on the upper reaches of the North Johnstone River is just out of town on the main highway to Atherton.

The Malanda Falls Visitor's Centre is also at this site.  Here the sightseer can find information about the geological and natural history of the tropical rainforest, as well as the cultural history of the original inhabitants, the Ngadgon-Ji people.

A visitor's parking and recreation area as well as picnic and toilet facilities are provided.
