Mossman, the “Sugar Town of the
North”, located approximately 75 kilometres north of
Cairns, with a current population of around 2000, has had the
sugar industry as it’s economic backbone for most of its
history.
Apart from its own appeal as a quiet and beautiful rural town
set amongst lush greenery, with a northern and western backdrop
of majestic mountains, Mossman also has immediate access to
numerous natural and man-made attractions.
Mossman can offer an experience of a typical North Queensland
small town, and yet still be within easy reach of all the
internationally acclaimed tourist attractions the area has to
offer.
Mossman should be considered if you would prefer a quieter and
more relaxed holiday than that offered by the totally tourist
oriented atmosphere of nearby Port Douglas.
