So named because it was originally the site used for a shipping signal flag, Flagstaff Hill lookout gives excellent panoramic views of the coast, the ocean, the coastal ranges and part of Port Douglas township.

Four Mile Beach is directly below and stretches away to the south towards Cairns.

On a clear day Fitzroy Island off Cairns can be seen.

The lookout site can be accessed by vehicle, but, more often than not, visitors will walk the distance and enjoy the exercise and the sceenery along the way.
