Many of the
creeks and streams in the Yungaburra district are home to the
famous and illusive platypus.
There is a facility for platypus viewing at Peterson Creek on the
edge of town.
The Platypus is a very elusive creature and a certain amount of
patience is required in order to view it, however if you are
prepared to sit quietly there is a very good chance that you will
be rewarded with seeing one as it comes to the surface to chew
its catch.
The time you are most likely to catch a glimpse of these
fascinating animals is early in the morning or late
afternoon.
