Ellis Beach

Approximately 30 kilometres north of the city along the Captain Cook Highway is the last of the beaches belonging to the "Northern Beaches" district of Cairns.

Unlike most of the other beach communities along the Marlin Coast, however, Ellis Beach is not really a residential area, having no permanent township as such.  Its main attraction is its beautiful, clean, sandy beach and its tropical, beach-front caravan and camping resort.

The caravan park has powered sites for vans as well as facilities for tent camping.  Holiday units, bungalows and cabins are also available for visitors who lack their own camping equipment.  A swimming pool and barbeque compliment the park and allow for outdoor eating and entertainment.

Ellis Beach also boasts a licensed restaurant for evening dining and a kiosk which serves take-away food for both the camper and day visitor.
